Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The engineerability of ultra high speed long haul soliton communication systems strongly depends on the dispersion value and arrangement of the optical transmission line.In this contribution, we compare the performance of dispersion management(also caged step-wise soliton fiber)and one-dispersion systems. From compliter_ simulations of a 40 Gb, s 5000-km system with 50-km amplifier spacing,we find that tolerance to launched power levels(dynamic range),tolerance to dispersion inhomogeneities, immunity to soliton interactions, and tolerance to large amplifier spacing is best for soliton systems operating at low dispersion regime.
