Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new all-optical 3R regeneration method employing only one InGaAsP/InP-based electroabsorption modulator (EAM), which is sinusoidally rf-driven, for both clock recovery and gating. The 3R regeneration experiment was carried out at 20 Gbit/s, and error-free operation was confirmed. Timing jitter was intentionally imposed on the input data signal, and the regenerated data signal had a reduced timing jitter, which verified that the proposed regenerator worked as a 3R regenerator possessing a retiming function.
