Abstract(in English) We proposed an arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) cascade connection technique. This reduces the crosstalk of a conventional AWG multi/demultiplexer by cascade-connecting AWG-based band-pass filters. We also developed a 16-channel multi/demultiplexer that used the AWG cascade connection, and confirmed its very low background crosstalk of-60 dB.
