Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Free-electron lasers are capable of generating coherent high-power electromagnetic waves in the short millimeter through optical wave region. They are continuously tunable over a wide frequency range, and offer high efficiency in power conversion. However, their extremely large size has prevented the progress of their research and application to various fields. In order to extract their potential abilities as much as possible, it is necessary to realize compact lasers. In this report, we present our proposal for typical compact free-electron lasers in the millimeter and submillimeter wave regions.
