Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A new way to use a semiconductor laser amplifier is proposed that acts as a noise reduction device using a nolinear absorption effect. The absorption recovery time was reduced by stimulated recombination due to CW additional light. A receiver sensitivity improvement of 0.5 dB in a 5 Gbps NRZ signal was confirmed by using this principle. The Q-factor improvement was estimated theoretically. According to these calclations, we reveal design rules for an optical noise reduction device. |
