Abstract(in English) | A new multi-channel optical coupling component using polymeric optical waveguide film for parallel optical interconnection modules(ParaBIT modules)has been improved by simplifying the structure of the BF(bare-fiber)connector interface.The new structure is made of plastic formed by injection molding, so that the V-grooves can be molded very precisely.Eliminating the need for micro glass capillaries reduces the number of parts needed by about 50%.The average insertion loss of the 20 channels in the optical coupling componenet was 2.5dB at 850nm, and the deviation between the channels was within ±0.3dB. |
