Amplifications at 1.31μm Pr^<3+> doped fibers

Abstract(in English) Efficient Pr^<3+>-doped fiber amplifier is greatly demanded for the 1.31μm optical fiber communication system, especially for the fiber-optic subscriber system Recently, In/Ga-based fluoride glass fibers and chalcogenide glass fibers are expected to have an improved amplification characteristics than ZBLAN fibers. We report the highest gain coefficient of 0.65dB/mW at 1.31μm by using Pr^<3+>-doped In/Ga-based fluoride fiber amplifier with a unique double pass configuration. We also prepared Pr^<3+>-doped Ga_2S_3 based chalcogenide glass single-mode fibers. Intemal gain of 9B at 1.31μm was demonstrated by a bi-directional pumping configuration
