Long-period grating written by residual stress relaxation

Abstract(in English) We fabricated long-period gratings in pure silica core optical fibers by residual stress relaxation and a 20 dB grating was obtained.Thermal characteristics of the grating are stable compared with conventional long-period gratings in Ge-doped optical fibers using UV-induced refractive index change.We confirmed to be able to apply this grating as a high temperature sensor.
