Abstract(in English) | Extension of 10 GHz optical soliton transmission distance in a sliding frequency recirculating fiber loop is described. We modified the fiber-loop experimental setup as follows. (1)The dispersive wave energy of optical pulses of an MQW electro-absorption modulator was decreased by transmitting through a dispersion compensating fiber. (2) A guiding filter with narrower bandwidth was used for decreasing the Gordon-Haus timing jitter. (3) The propagation loss of the loop was decreased. In a transmission experiment, 10-GHz optical solitons were transmitted over 36,000 km without significant change in pulse width. |
