Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DS/SS) system with a GMSK modulation. To demodulate DS/SS/GMSK signals, coherent detection has been considered so far. In this paper, we consider differential detection, which does not need a carrier recovery, and evaluate the bit error rate performance in the presence of thermal noise and interferences from other channels. It is shown that in differential detection, the degradation relative to coherent detection is smaller than the non-spread case.
