Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose BC-TCM (Block/Convolutional-Trellis Coded Modulation) for QPSK in which I data are encoded with convolutional code and Q data are encoded with block code. Redundancy of block code gives restriction on selection of parallel path to Trellis Decoding for I data. Required Eb/No of BC-TCM can be 1dB smaller than that of conventional QPSK with convolutional coding. Especially, BER of I data can be greatly improved since distance between (0,0) and (1,0) and distance between (0,1) and (1,1) are both enlarged by √<2>.
