A PN Acquisition Algorithm for a TDD CDMA System with a Priori Timing Information

Abstract(in English) In this paper we present the performance of a soft decision matched filter acquisition scheme with a priori timing information for a time division duplex (TDD) code division multiple access (CDMA) system. The TDD method allows economical system design, efficient frequency usage, and better transmission power control. For the TDD CDMA system, pseudo noise (PN) sequence acquisition is one of the critical issues as information data are transmitted in packets. By controling the packet arrival timing on the reverse link (from mobile units to a base station) and utilizing a priori timing information, the soft decision matched filter synchronizer reduces its memory size by a factor of 10 and improves the acquisition performance by 1dB.
