Abstract(in English) | As part of the research into advanced vehicle control systems (AVCS), it is necessary to continuously determine the relative position of a vehicle as it travels along a road. We have developed a lateral distance measurement system using the Spread Spectrum (SS) technique. We propose a short range measurement system utilizing the slope of the correlation function of m-sequence as an application of the SS technique. Experimental results using an optical radar sensor are presented. The distance to a roadside guardrail can be measured continuously. Additionally, we have experimented on the effect of multipath for the radar beam with respects to accuracy. |
