A New Synchronization Acquisition Scheme on Non-orthogonal M-ary/SS System under Carrier Frequency Offset

Abstract(in English) It is wellknown that M-ary/spread spectrum (M-ary/SS) system is superior to direct-sequence spread spectrum system under AWGN, and can achieve high spectral efficiency. On the other hand, however, the main drawback of this system is that the synchronization acquisition is difficult. In this paper, we propose a new synchronization acquisition method under carrier frequency offset. As spreading sequences, a set of non-orthogonal sequences obtained by repeating the same sequence concatenated sequences are used, and in order to eliminate the effect of carrier frequency offset, the 1/2 symbol delay differential detector are used in stead of the non-coherent detector. It is shown that the synchronization detection probabilities are not in-fluenced by carrier frequency offset, and the evraluation shows that proposed system can acquire the synchronization within 100 symbols at 6dB in E_b/N0 regardless of amount of Carrier frequency offset.
