Method of bottleneck detection using quality and resource measurement

Abstract(in English) Many mission-critical services (i.e., electric commerce) are already provided on the Internet. In order to detect the degradation of the quality of service (QoS), It is important to evaluate the end-to-end QoS. For mission-critical services, end-to-end QoS is not only estimated with the resource utilization, but also directly measured using a pseudo user. Once the degradation is detected, the manager must detect the bottleneck to improve the system. So far, the bottleneck is detected using only resource utilization or using many additional measurement. When service quality and resource utilization are measured, a better method of bottleneck detection using these measurements is desired. In this paper, we proposed a new method of bottleneck detection by analyzing the correlation of these measurements and showed the validity of our method.
