Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A scalable admission control mechanism is required to guarantee QoS requirements in IP networks. A scalable admission control is possible by using endpoint admission control. This paper introduces a new endpoint measurement-based admission control for VoIP networks. In this method, instead of sending the probe flow after the arrival of incoming call, the probe flow is regularly being sent between each pair of endpoints, thus reducing the time required for the call connection. The simulation-based performance evaluation of VoIP networks shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
