Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With increasing demands to integrate the voice and the data networks using VoIp (Voice over IP), techniques for evaluating the quality of VoIP are needed. In the conventional method of estimating speech quality of VoIP, the subjectivity quality (MOS) of the speech is estimated from the network quality. The method can estimate MOS based on the function of the playout buffer, the packet loss, and the delay variation of packets. However, the definition of the delay variation was not recommended by standardization organizations. In this paper, the delay variation metrics are generalized using the definition recommended by ITU-T and IETF, and the accuracy of the estimation method is verified. We show MOS estimated using the method with standerd metrics and our using the conventional method. We also show that the method with standerd metrics is more convenient than the conventional method.
