Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we propose a method of extracting emotional parameters and regenerating the facial expression on different avatar models. At first, action unit parameters(AUs) for universal expressions are extracted, where a comic-style facial model having only essential components is utilized in order to extract the parameters efficiently. Then, regeneration of the emotional expression on different polygonal mesh models is carried out. Experimental results show a possibility that the method could be used for intelligent avatar communications between avatars of different languages.
