Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As the Internet traffic increses, the photonic-IP network, which is a IP network constructed on a photonic wavelength division multiplex network, is correcting interest. The objective of the photonic-IP network is to fully utilize the network by the functions provided by both optical layer and IP layer cooperate. In this article, we summarize the issues to be studied on the photonic-IP network in terms of coordination of optical and IP layers. In particular, we discuss, coordination of oprical and IP layers on routing, making use of Multi-Protocol Label Switching, bidirectional connection for IP routing protocols, protection and restoration, and communication quality of services which is required in the IP-integrated network.
