Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes several issues of speech quality evaluation in VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol). First, we investigate the requirements for quality evaluation on such factors as low-bit-rate coding distortion, packet loss in network and buffer at receiving side, delay, and echo. Next, we discuss hypothetical reference system, quality evaluation measure, and quality estimation method used for network planning and management.
