Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The broadband internet access industry needs high quality, low cost and high data rate access system. Millimeterwave FWA system, which mainly operates in 22GHz and 26GHz band in Japan, is considered as one of the best solution. Telecommunication quality of this system is greatly influenced by rainfall however, we are now able to estimate this rainfall attenuation by using Japanese unique method and ITU-R. This year, Tokyo, zone K based on ITU-R, experienced heavy rain, much heavier than a normal year. Especially on July 4, we had storms and concentrated heavy rains in center of Tokyo. Since our 22GHz band FWA systems in Ohtemachi area were on operation on July 4, we would like to report the attached which shows the comparison of various estimation and the actual data.
