Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, turbo codes applied to W-CDMA mobile radio are investigated as a function of coding parameters or channel characteristics, and computer simulations shows the following things: Turbo codes on W-CDMA provides the better performance than the conventional coding schemes such as concatenated codes of convolutional codes and Reed-Solomon codes. Application of turbo internal interleaver designed appropriately reduces error floor. The coding gain of turbo codes increases as the coding frame becomes longer, however, the change of turbo coding gain is little when the coding rate varies. The coding gain does not change much if fading frequency or the number of propagation path varies. The distribution of decoding error is also investigated, and the distribution of decoding word error is almost the same as the random distribution.
