Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report discusses the influence of a handover on stored media synchronization in PHS Internet access. Not only the degradation of the PHS channel quality before the handover but also the interruption of communication due to the handover disturb the temporal constraints of media largely. We developed a simple experimental system, in which an H.263 video stream is transmitted from a media server to a PHS mobile terminal via PHS public base stations. We then mcasured the synchronization quality during the handover due to the movement at a walking speed. The slide control scheme is applied to the mobile terminal as a media synchronization mechanism. We confirm the effectiveness of the scheme by experiments.
