Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the significance or TINA (Telecommunications Information Networkjng Architecture) and TINA-C (TINA Consortium) and then discusses what role TINA will play in the future networking business. In conventional networks, users use networks only as information transport media, and receive only pre-defined services. Multimedia networks of the future should provide an open and seamless environment in which users and networks can cooperate with each other in achieving services and management. The Telecommunications Information Networking Architecture (TINA) is network software architecture and interface specifications, i.e. Information Sharing Platform, aimed at bringing such an environment to reality. TINA is intensively developed by the TINA Consortium (TINA-C). This paper describes the significance of TINA and TINA-C and expected TINA's role in the future Information Sharing business.
