Abstract(in English) In this paper, compressed still pictures data transmission techniques for the Hokkaido Integrated Telecommunications network via communication satellite systems are discussed. We proposed the new image data coding method based on sequential DCT base JPEG algorithm. Then progressive image transmission method based on progressive DCT base JPEG are discussed for high BER transmission condition via communications satellite systems.
