Abstract(in English) A VP traffic shaper using a stream-type ATM NIC has been developed to enable customers to connect their ATM SW or NIC to public ATM networks, which require traffic shaping. This paper describes the reference model used for ATM traffic shaping and discusses how the developed shaper solves the problem. then, this paper describes how the shaper was implemented and evaluates its performances. Finally this paper describes the problems of the current token bucket scheduler and proposes a new scheduling algorithm that is implemented in the developed traffic shaper.
