Abstract(in English) The shaping function in current ATM NIC products have limited cell rates and the flexibility its band-width management is insufficient. It is thus possible to generate cell rates whose CDVs are unacceptable and whose priority classes for VCs are not supported. Control methods that shape the traffic have been developed to solve these problems. This paper describes a stream-type ATM NIC architecture and clarifies solutions for these problems.
