Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) GMN-CL (ConnectionLess networking technologies for Global Megamedia Networks) has been developed for building next-generation computer networks by NTT Laboratories. GMN-CL architecture provides high-speed, high-performance and large-scale networking services at a low price ; besides, it causes new network-designing factors which affect the End-to-End communication quality. In this paper, we describe GMN-CL architecture at first, then analyze the major factors which influence the application-level communication quality. Next, we point out some network-designing problems to be settled in order to achieve enough network performance. In addition, we introduce typical designing of GMN-CL access network parameters, which largely influence the End-to-End application throughput.
