Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) TCP/IP has been mainly optimized for wired environments in which packet losses are not severe. However, recently TCP/IP is being widely used in mobile and wireless communications where packet losses occur frequently. Recently SACK option (RFC 2018 : TCP Selective Acknowledgement Options) has been proposed to remedy such situations. However, even with this optin, when packet losses are severe, transmission interrupts and retransmission by timeouts may occur. In this paper, we propose a new method for improving the retransmissin control of TCP with SACK information. The proposed method is implemented for Reno-TCP and its effectiveness is shown through simulations and experimental results.
