Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Speech and music coding technique plays important role for emerging multimedia communication, 3rd generation mobile communication, and package media systems. Coding efficiencies of source coders have been improved by limiting the type of input signals. Speech coders and music coders are the examples of such coders. In order to utilize such "dedicated" coders, clasification of speech and music is indispensable. In this paper, automatic speech/music classification algorithm is proposed. It is possible that an optimal coding tool can be automatically selected according to the judgement made by the proposed classification algorithm. |
