Performance Modeling and Evaluation of Web Systems with Proxy Server Caching

Abstract(in English) As WWW (World Wide Web) is widely used on the Internet, it becomes important how the"high-quality service" is provided for WWW users. For this, it is necessary to properly estimate a required amount of network resources. For modeling and performance evaluation of the Web system, we conducted the benchmark test of the Proxy server, by which basic quantitative characteristics are obtained. In this paper, we summarize the results of benchmark tests, and give some implications obtained through the benchmark tests for performance modeling of Web systems. Then we propose and evaluate a performance model of the entire Web systems.
