Abstract(in English) Recently, ATM-LANs have been introduced in the private system or University campuses owing to the multimedia capability. This paper presents the transfer characteristics of ATM-LAN and ATM interconnected networks in the On-Line University project of NTT multimedia joint experiments. First, we show the ATM cell transfer characteristics, cell delay characteristics and IP layer delay characteristics. Then the TCP/IP performance and the degradation of throughput iare also shown over ATM networks.
