Objective Estimation Method of the Picture Quality for Moving Image

Abstract(in English) We have already reported a definition and formulation of the essential distortion factors of the moving image. In this research, we will start to develop an objective picture quality estimation method for moving image. We extract the essential distortion factors from moving image and relate the distortion factors with subjective evaluation factors obtained by the subjective evaluation experiment. This estimation method is based on the evaluation model of the picture quality. First, we estimate the psychological picture estimation factors obtained by the SD method and then obtain the MOS value by using the EBU method. By calculating the essential physical distortion factors and using the relation with the psychological picture estimation factors, we develop the objective picture quality scale for moving image according to the estimation model of the subjective picture quality.
