Abstract(in English) As the number of WWW (World-Wide-Web) users grow, network carriers and Internet providers are going to reconstruct the "Internet infrastructure". For an efficient design of such an infrastructure, it is necessary to study the relation between WWW traffic characteristics and performance of networks. In this paper, we analyze WWW traffic characteristics, using Proxy server's logging at Osaka University, and evaluate performance of an access network with network caching.
