Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is necessary to guarantee Quality of Service in order to transfer video, audio, or distributed computing data in a computer network. XTP protocol has the function of controlling the data transmission rate, but it does not guarantee rate. In this paper, we first present evaluation results of XTP data transfer over an ATM connection. Next, we present an implementation of a Bandwidth Manager to negotiate the transfer rate between sender and receiver. It basically manages the bandwidth of an ATM connection and CPU resources. A required CPU resource estimation table is used for the purpose of managing CPU resources.
