| 抄録(和) | 近年インターネット・ユーザー数の急伸やマルチメディア化の進展により, インターネットプロバイダーはインフラ整備の対応に追われている. 品質の高いネットワークシステムを構築するためには, ネットワーク特性やWebサーバ特性を十分に把握した上で, それらをバランス良く配備し, ボトルネックを解消することが不可欠になる. 本稿では, Webシステムのモデル化と性能評価を行なっていくために, 特にWebサーバの処理性能に関する基礎データをベンチマークによって収集した結果を示す. また, ベンチマークテストの結果により, Web要求に対するプロセスの起動方法や要求されたドキュメントファイルサイズが, Webサーバの処理能力に与える影響を明らかにしている. |
| 抄録(英) | As the number of WWW (World Wide Web) users grows, network carriers and Internet service providers are going to reconstruct the "Internet infrastructure." In doing so, it is important to properly estimate a required amount of network resources to provide highly quality services to users. For modeling and performance evaluation of the Web system, we conducted the benchmark test of the Web server to collect its basic quantitative characteristics. In this paper, we summarize the results of various benchmark tests, and give some implications obtained through the benchmark tests for performance modeling of Web systems. |
