| 抄録(和) | 近年のインターネットの発展に伴い、ADSLやCATVインターネット等、通信路において上りと下りの帯域が異なる非対称ネットワークも登場しつつある。本稿では、非対称なネットワークにおけるTCPの挙動について詳細な検討を行なう。まず、非対称ネットワークにおけるTCPの性能を解析的に評価し、ネットワークの非対称性が大きい場合にはTCPの性能が著しく劣化することを明らかにする。また、その性能劣化を防止する方法として、TCPのDelayed ACKオプションが有効であることを明らかにする。最後に、さまざまなネットワークパラメータがTCPの性能に与える影響について評価を行い、非対称なネットワークの設計指針を示す。 |
| 抄録(英) | As the Internet users grows, new network services are emerging. Those includes ADSL and CATV Internet, which provide asymmetric bandwidth for uplink and downlink of the user's connection. In this paper, we investigate the TCP behavior on such asymmetric networks, and derive the analytic results of the TCP performance. Through numerical examples, it is shown that as the asymmetry of the network becomes large, the performance of TCP is significantly degraded. We further present how the various network parameters affect the TCP performance, and show the designing policy of TCP on the asymmetric network. |
