Abstract(in English)	Various multimedia services and systems are supplied, for example, ISDN service, OCN service, the Internet/WWW and LAN/WAN. Compared with multimedia services penetration into other areas in Japan, the speed of it is a little bit slow in Shikoku. In this paper, some aspects of multimedia penetration into Shikoku such as digitalization of the network, the rate of multimedia network services propagation, local governments policy for multimedia introduction rind various business uses are described. Moreover, utilization of multimedia services and systems for information sharing beyond prefecture areas is proposed in order to promote business chances and to prevent depopulation in Shikoku.
