Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The World Radiocommunication Conference held in 1995 resolved to assign the frequency bands 18.9 - 19.3 GHz and 28.7 - 29.1 GHz co-primarily to geostationary satellite systems and non-geostationary satellite systems of the fixed-satellite service. In Japan and some countries, some geostationary satellite communication systems have been operating in these bands for a long time. We estimated the interference between non-geostationary and geostationary systems by computer simulation. The results indicate that the interference is unacceptable without mitigation technique to combat against mutual interference. This paper describes the simulation results and indicates that frequency sharing by non-geostationary and geostationary systems is feasible if satellite diversity technique is employed in non-geostationary systems.
