Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with the possibilities of the satellite diversity (Sat. D) system for VSAT earth station. Three satellite, i.e., JCSAT-1, JCSAT-3 and Broadcasting Satellite (BS), down-link signals are measured in experiments. The diversity gains are obtained by the Sat. D simulation program. From the obtained Sat. D results, the Sat. D system improving factor for snow can be obtained from 10^<-2> to 10^<-3> for snowing attenuation, on the contrary, 10^<-1> for rain attenuation case. This may be due to differences in rain and snow cloud sizes, topographical conditions near earth station and wind directions and so on. Required satellite spacings for Sat. D system are examined by using six satellite signals receiving system.
