TCP/IP Performance of Multimedia Interactive Satellite Communications System

Abstract(in English) This paper describes measurement results of TCP performance of an asynchronous computer network which uses a satellite network for downlink and a terrestrial network for uplink. A throughput without bit errors is in agreement with an estimated result from a round trip time and a window size, and it is convinced that the system has expected persormance. A measured throughput with bit errors shows that the throughput is reduced by algorithms for congestion avoidance even if the retransmissions are caused by the satellite circuit bit errors.
