Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method to synthesize virtual space automatically by using limited number of real perspective images. First, each input image is divided into five regions, that is, sky, ground, right and left sides, and back, based on the position of vanishing point. Then these five regions are used to estimate the rectangular parallelepiped model of 3-D scene. Several images, which are taken at adjacent view positions, are used to estimate similar rectangular parallelepiped models. These models are allocated in consideration of mutual positions. Finally, 3-D movement of view position and view direction is represented by synthesizing arbitrary view images using above models and texture of input images.
