| 抄録(和) | 考古発掘において遺物が完全な状態で出土することはまれである.それゆえその復元が必要となるが,それには専門家の知識や経験,膨大な時間を要し,試行錯誤やレプリカ作成時に唯一の出土品を破損する危険も伴う.本研究ではバーチャルリアリティ技術を用いて実質的な代替モデルをコンピュータ上に構築し,それを用いて考古学の見地に基づき様々な検討を加えることを目的とする.本文では出土した弥生時代初期の頭蓋骨をコンピュータ上で復元し,当時の人の顔を推定するシステムを構築したので報告する.復元の際,損傷が激しい個所については標準的なモデルにて補間をし,統計的な皮膚の厚みを考慮したモデルを復元頭蓋骨に適合させることで顔を推定する手法を提案する. |
| 抄録(英) | Relics are rarely unearthed with the best condition. Although restoration of them is important, it requires knowledge and experience of specialist, and spends much time for trials. Furthermore, the process of it may cause damage to the sensitive and precious materials. The goal of our research is to construct a substitutable copy of relics on computer by using virtual reality techniques and to use it for research from various archaeological viewpoints. This paper describes a system to make it possible to restore and reconstruct the ancients' face from an excavated skull of the Yayoi-period (2200 years ago). For restoration, a standardized skull model is substituted for critical damaged parts of the excavated skull, and a method to estimate the face by considering the skin's thickness based on the statistical data is proposed. |
