Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we propose a new framework for generic object tracking based on visual cue selection, cue substitution as well as cue integration. At any one time, tracking of the object is done using the dominant cue at that time as decided by a cue selection module and is monitored for any possible failures. When there is a possibilty for a failure, several other cue based trackers are parallely activated and a dominant one is selected which is then used alone to continue tracking. In this framework, we can efficiently combine different indidividual cue tracking algorithms to build a robust multi-cue tracking system. Experiment results using real world image sequences taken from fixed and moving cameras are given to validate the arguments.
