Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a real-time storage and simultaneous retrieval tool for surveillance and patrol video. The tool can be used to access video database to capture and index all the images which video camera catches. Our tool contains a new time-based segmentation method for live video stream. This paper describes the method and its evaluation. Two typical segmentation methods were compared with our method. We tested the methods on the 54 minutes patrol video for electric power facilities. Six human subjects tried to find the randomly selected test video scenes using different three browsing interfaces developed by the methods. The interface developed by our method could support them to find most certainly the scenes.
