Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 3D virtual worlds are similar to the real world much more than 2D maps, and users can easily see and understand 3D virtual worlds, which are characteristics of 3D virtual worlds. But 3D virtual worlds have a problem that users can get lost eisily when the worlds are extensive. In this paper, we try to solve the problem using VRML and Java which functions are assured on the Internet, and we have designed and implemented a navigation interface using a 2D map and functions of the 3D coordinate indication and language indication. Using this interface, users can move more easily and more flexibility in the 3D virtual worlds, and this user interface has reduced the problem.
