Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) CABIN , which is an immersive projection display, has come to make a connection with several similar displays via broad band network such as ATM. This communication system provides us a capability to share 3D virtual work space. In order to share the virtual world using a video avatar, segmentation of the user's 3D image from the background is a key technology. In this study, synchronized chroma-key method was developed. In this method, a blue image is inserted to the right and left image sequence, and the user's image is captured and extracted by using chroma-key method when the blue image is displayed. Since the LCD shutters are closed when the blueback is displayed, the user sees only the stereo images through the shutter glasses.
