Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses about the intrinsic kinematics of hand through the experiments of ofject manipulation with translation and rotation. The intrinsic kinematics of hand has been investigated in the field of kinesiology and ergonomics. These works were, however, intended in the task in a real world or the pointing task in a 2-D virtual space, and only the translation was considered. In a3-D virtual space, where the manipulated ovject has 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF), the relationship between translation and rotation must be considered. Through the analysis of the intrinsic kinematics of hand, it is clarified that the rotation process dominates the whole manipulation time, the translation for the time delay and so on. Moreover, the notion provides the implications for and the rotation are independent for the speed, and the rotation is dependent on the translation 3-D interface design and evaluation.
