Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we describe a method of video image segmentation using fractal coding. Ida and Sambonsugi have proposed a segmentation scheme as the application of IFS coding. They applied the feature that orbits of the inverse process of the IFS attract to trapping regions. We have proposed a method of video segmentation using IFS coding, however, granular error, and indistinct shape are obtained in some regions. Therefore, we apply the characteristics of the orbits. First, the number of calculation of the orbits is different between the initial points. Second, some orbits converge into periodic sequences of the points. The simulation results show its validity.
