Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an efficient method for assigning information about video contents to video scenes as an index with the help of feature matching of video sequences. The method provides a function that automatically detects all scenes similar to a user-selected sample from target video sequences by feature matching between the sample and the target. Therefore, a user can simultaneously assign the same information to all target scenes having the same content as the sample through browsing only the detected scenes. It is evaluated using a video sequence of a baseball game. The results show that a user can finish a video indexing operation in a very short time compared with the case he or she sequentially checks the whole video though it causes a little omission of similar scene detection.
